Our cats are rescued from the Quinte Region, and given another chance at life. We introduce them into a nurturing and family-friendly environment for a smooth transition into their forever homes, and this is where you come in, their forever parent!
Welcome to Gigi's Cat Rescue Quinte, a labour of love born out of compassion and a deep passion for caring for the most vulnerable. Our journey began in 2013, when a feral cat colony in our area sparked a desire to make a difference. Years later, in 2020, we officially founded Gigi's Cat Rescue Quinte, dedicated to providing a safe haven for those in need.
Our primary focus is on rescuing abandoned kittens, nursing mothers, and pregnant cats, offering them a second chance at life. While we do occasionally accept surrendered cats when space allows, our core mission remains centred on these most vulnerable members of our feline community.
At Gigi's Cat Rescue Quinte, we believe that caring for those in need is not just a responsibility, but a privilege. Our team is driven by a shared passion for providing love, care, and support to those who need it most. We're proud to be a voice for the voiceless and a haven for those who have been abandoned or neglected.
We are especially grateful for the dedication of our foster parents, who selflessly volunteer their time and homes to care for our furry friends. Their dedication, compassion, patience, and love are invaluable to our mission, and we are thankful for their tireless efforts.

meet our foster parents
We are eternally grateful to our foster parents. Their dedication to each and every kitten is invaluable, and saves lives. Through their love and attention our kittens are socialized and introduced to every day life.

Ruth shares a little about how she got started as a foster mom to baby kittens needing to be bottle fed.
"I once took in I once took in a Bengal kitten whose mom wasn't interested in caring for her.had been attacked by her mom and had a large bite wound. Despite the vet's doubts, I bottle-fed and cared for her, naming her Felicia. It was a challenging but rewarding experience, and with the guidance of a supportive vet, Felicia thrived. This experience sparked a journey of helping with bottle babies, including working with rescues and fostering kittens. I've since fostered many litters, including a recent one with 8 bottle babies for Gigi's Cat Rescue Quinte. My current Bengal cat, a dominant male, surprisingly loves the babies and helps me care for them. The reward comes when I hand over a successfully raised kitten to its new home. Gigi's Cat Rescue is incredibly supportive, sharing both the laughs and tough moments with its fosters, making the experience even more fulfilling."

In March 2024, I saw a post that Gigi's needed a foster for a mom and her new born kittens. My heart told me that I needed to help these little ones and their mom.
It was a learning experience but Christine was always there to help.
I have now fostered many litters. Being a foster mom gives me a rewarding feeling that I am saving lives and giving them a chance to live.
I am very dedicated to this cause, and when a call comes I do what I can to help out.

I am an animal lover. I grew up with dogs, and finally got my first cat after trying to convince my dad for ten years. After the loss of her and one other cat, I found fostering. It's amazing watching kittens grow, and seeing shy and timid cats find confidence and become affectionate. Since fostering for Gigi's, I've fostered thirty six cats and counting!
